Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint an Assistant Headteacher – Teaching and Learning, to help lead our staff and students in the next stage of our development. As a member of the senior leadership team, you must have an expert knowledge of the process of learning in a secondary school, coupled with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. You will have a desire to progress further in your career, and the ability to make a difference. You will also value collaborative working as part of a large Multi-Academy Trust.

OFSTED inspected the Academy in May 2023 and judged the school to be GOOD and inspectors noted that “Leaders at The Highfield School are caring and have high expectations.”

The School has a clear vision and ethos which has led to good results and is a popular parental choice in the local area. Key to that success is a relentless focus on high quality teaching and learning and a flexible and innovative curriculum enabling learners to follow individualised pathways to suit their abilities and aspirations.

We offer a comprehensive induction and career-stage linked professional development programme, recognising that our staff are the key to our success. You will benefit from supportive colleagues, enthusiastic students and excellent facilities and resources.

Our vision for our school is to produce responsible young people of whom we can all be proud and who are prepared to make a contribution to their local, national and global communities. If you feel that you have the qualities to help lead such an organisation and can meet our expectations, then we look forward to receiving your application!
