Job overview

St John’s is a residential and day school for deaf pupils aged 4-19, many of whom have additional special educational needs. Our school uses an oral approach to develop pupils’ spoken and written language skills, and knowledge of sign language is not required for all posts. 

The school caters for pupils with sensory impairments and communication difficulties, including autism. We offer day placements as well as term-time weekly boarding from Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a caring, dynamic and committed assistant headteacher who can contribute to our continuous drive for improvement, joining our team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing the very best life chances for our students.

The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive induction programme.
