The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a motivated, experienced and exceptional leader with a track record of successful middle leadership.

The successful candidate will:

- be an outstanding, expert classroom practitioner with a passion and commitment for teaching, learning and student well-being

- lead a team of highly able professionals 

- provide inspirational and forward-thinking leadership for teaching and learning 

- be ambitious to raise attainment and achieve positive outcomes for all students

The vacancy has arisen due to the promotion of one of our Assistant Headteachers and some restructuring of roles and responsibilities within the current leadership team. The successful applicant will lead the development of whole school teaching and learning as well as strategic pastoral oversight of one of the Key Stage cohorts. The postholder will also have line management responsibility of a number of subject areas and shared responsibility for wider areas of senior strategic leadership. The Senior Leadership Team is a collaborative and experienced team committed to further developing our currently good school.

Ashton Community Science College is an 11-16 mixed school with 687 pupils on roll and was rated as Good by Ofsted in the last inspection in 2013. Our goal is to be an outstanding High School and we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well qualified leader to join us in our journey.
