MPR/UPR TLR 2c £6,450 (or higher depending on experience)

A unique opportunity to join an outstanding academy

We are looking for an inspirational individual to join our forward thinking, innovative and dynamic academy to ensure our Outstanding, World Class provision is not only retained but is also built upon.  The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Director of Science with the leadership of academy’s outstanding Science Department.

Judged Outstanding for the first time in 2009 and re-designated as Outstanding in every Ofsted category in May 2013 we have a track record of excellence both in terms of student outcomes and professional development. Working within the nationally renowned GORSE Academies Trust led by Sir John Townsley we were awarded Teaching School Status in March 2012 and in September 2015 our School Centred Initial Teacher Training Centre opened supporting the development of over 90 trainee teachers.  On 1 December 2016 The Morley Academy was officially recognised as a World Class School, one of only 48 in the country.

Our examination results are extremely impressive and includes value added data which places us amongst the very top performing schools nationally. The 2017 GCSE results placed The Morley Academy as the top performing school in Leeds for Grade 4 English & Mathematics and the indicative Progress 8 score is +0.63. The final Progress 8 score will be known soon but a figure of +0.63 would place the academy in the top 5% of schools nationally with students, on average, achieving two-thirds of a grade higher in each of their GCSE subjects than other students nationally. The Science Department contribute significantly to the Progress 8 score; consistently achieving Outstanding results that are significantly above the national average, for example, in summer 2017 88% of students secured a grade C or higher.

This role represents an incredibly exciting opportunity for any candidate who is eager to be a part of an organisation that seeks to secure the very highest educational standard for every student. Our students receive Outstanding pastoral care, support and guidance and we would expect any successful candidate to be of a mind-set where they believe anything is possible. Likewise, our professional body also benefits from Outstanding CPD and support which is personalised to your particular needs and experience.

If you are excited about the prospect of this opportunity, we would be delighted to hear from you.

An application pack which provides further details of the role is available to download directly from our website at www.tgat.org.uk/jobs, or by email to recruitment@morley.leeds.sch.uk. Please note if you submit an electronic application we will not require a hard copy. CVs are not accepted.

Recently accredited as a World Class School The Morley Academy is one of only 48 schools in the country to have the outcomes, attitudes and skills-sets of the student body recognised in this way.  We are extremely proud of this award and feel it captures our vision and ethos in a poignant manner.

We are a humble organisation that does not rest on its laurels.  We are always keen to listen and learn and we are eager to work in partnership with students and parents, carers and governors to continue to ensure our provision is the best it can possibly be.  As the founding member of the nationally renowned GORSE Academies Trust we benefit from expert partnership networks which provide a rich climate for discussion, debate, moderation and the sharing of resources.  Furthermore through the academy’s SCITT we benefit from working alongside and supporting the development of professionals new to teaching; we recognise the advantages that this offers and relish the opportunity to work collaboratively.

We are thrilled you are considering applying for a role with us; we can assure you if you do you will not be disappointed!
