Do you want to make an impact in a school that is moving forward with exciting times ahead?
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an Assistant Senco to join our school for September 2020 and make a huge contribution to transforming the learning and lives of our students. This pivotal role will include preparing highly important EHCP applications so that we secure funding to support our students with high level needs. The Assistant SENCO will also lead on an exciting migration of the majority of our work onto Edukey, our on-line platform, so that we raise the profile of the team and communicate transparently with all of our stakeholders.
Copthall School prides itself on educating 21st century women for successful careers in STEM, human, social and health sciences, performing arts and creative industries. Our thriving Sixth Form, which is in the top 12% of schools for A-Level results, offers both A-Level and Vocational pathways and we boast an excellent success rate in University applications.
You will join a committed team led by an experienced SENCO, line managed by the Pastoral Deputy Head. The team is well-supported by the school and is currently acting on the recommendations of a review commissioned from Barnet with Cambridge Education in 2019 to support us to move from strength to strength. According to the Inspection Data Summary Report, in 2018-19 our SEN support students out-performed the national average in the progress they made by roughly half a grade. Our SEN EHCP students need more support to reach this level, and this is a great opportunity for you to make an impact for them.
To be successful you need to be a confident administrator, who is also dynamic and passionate, with experience of SEN related responsibilities, policy and practice. The successful candidate will be passionate about inclusion, a champion for all students with SEND and an advocate for some of our most vulnerable students. We would welcome applications from candidates who are interested to train to teach and to achieve the SENCO qualification. We will be pleased to invest in the development of the right candidate. No matter your career stage, we are interested in talking with you about how you will help us to create outstanding inclusive provision and life-changing opportunities and outcomes for our students.
Copthall School is committed to promoting equality, challenging discrimination and developing community cohesion. We welcome applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
Appointment is subject to a clear DBS check to an enhanced level.
Application forms are available from the School website: http://www.copthallschool.org.uk/219/join-us or by phoning the school office on 020 8959 1937.
