Balby Carr Community College, currently going through an exciting period of development and soon to join the Astrea Academy Trust, is seeking a talented Assistant Vice Principal to join their Senior Leadership Team. Balby Carr is a vibrant and rapidly improving 11-18 Community Academy with over 1300 students, state of the art sporting facilities and a thriving Sixth Form.

Named as a Specialist Sports and Science College, it is home to several sporting Academies, including Football, Golf and Sports Medicine. It also has a thriving Music and Drama department and a fantastic sixth form centre which incorporates an Internet Café and Media Studio.
The Assistant Vice Principal will lead the development and improvement of Teaching and Learning at the Academy to ensure that the progress already made in educational outcomes is continued. Working alongside the Principal and Senior Leadership Team, this varied role will see the Assistant Vice Principal lead key strategic teams in understanding and developing high quality and innovative provision, support strategic development, share good practice and plan and deliver collaborative activities beyond the academy to enable every child to exceed their potential.
Candidates will need to demonstrate:
· Excellent interpersonal skills to lead, motivate and inspire staff and students to reach the highest standards of Teaching and Learning
· Outstanding classroom teaching
· The ability to operate at a strategic level including effective use of data
· A track record of successful outcomes
With twenty academies within the group across South Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire, plus the purpose built, all-though Astrea Academy Sheffield due to open in September 2018, the Trust continues to grow and inspire beyond measure. To complement the intrinsic rewards which we award to our teachers and to demonstrate our commitment to them, in September 2017 the Astrea Academy Trust awarded all teaching staff a 2% pay increase which was above the recommended increase of 1% from the School Teachers Review Body.
