Job overview

Serlby Park Academy has an exciting teaching opportunity for a Lead Teacher of MFL (French and Spanish), to start in September 2021 on a full time, permanent basis.

The Associate Lead Teacher role is to provide pedagogic leadership as an outstanding classroom practitioner, playing a key part in raising standards through the model of their own excellent teaching and by supporting the professional development of their colleagues. The ultimate aim will be to improve the learning experience and increase the outcomes of students, whatever their ability.

Our academy is looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner who, through their passion for languages and culture, can inspire our students on their foreign language journey. This post is pivotal in the Academy’s drive to raise attainment and if appointed, you will play a key role in developing and improving Teaching and Learning in addition to improving student outcomes.

Serlby Park is a 3-16 through school, situated in a small village just outside the market town of Bawtry. We are passionate about providing our students with the very best experiences and we offer a wide range of opportunities to enable them to secure the very best outcomes. We place our learners’ individual needs at the heart of everything we do, and we pride ourselves on being an integral part of the local community and on knowing our students well.

This role provides an unusual and exciting next step for a teacher who wishes to join us on our journey. As we are a small school, MFL is part of the World Studies team (Geography, History & MFL) but as lead teacher, you will have the responsibility for languages. MFL is also supported by the Trust’s team of MFL directors so you will have the opportunity to work with, and be supported by, experienced, driven specialists.

At Delta Trust, we value the continuous professional development of all our employees and recognise that our staff are most successful when they feel happy, valued, challenged and supported to achieve their very best. All Delta staff have access to our employees’ benefits scheme and an optional healthcare programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop MFL and to make a genuine difference and a lasting impact on our young people. If you feel ready to take on this role in our unique and caring academy and you have the right skills to be our Lead Teacher of MFL, then we would very much like to hear from you!

Please contact the academy on 01302 742535 if you would like to discuss the role further.
