Job overview

We are Wellington College China, an inclusive community of unique individuals with passion, integrity and a commitment to our pupils and each other. Grounded in our values, we are a workplace where ideas are realised, bonds are forged, and futures can be shaped together as one team, one family.

Huili Nursery Hangzhou (HNH) provides a bilingual Early Years learning environment, developing strong language and communication skills through internationally proven play-based activities.

At Huili Nursery our atelierista is an integral part of our learning process and practice, we are heavily influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach and are one of the only ateliers in China.

The role of the Atelierista is to support and facilitate children's creative exploration and expression through various art forms. They collaborate closely with the children, encouraging them to experiment with different materials and techniques, and assisting them to develop their unique artistic styles by engaging all their senses. The atelierista also collaborates with other staff members to integrate art into the comprehensive curriculum to create a stimulating and inspiring learning environment for the children, across all our areas.

We are privileged enough to possess an amazing atelier that is extremely well well-equipped, and where our atelierista collaborates with the music teacher to offer extended bilingual opportunities for our children. They plan with class teachers and mentor our staff to provide satellite atelier practice in our classrooms.

We pride ourselves on our teamwork and have a strong shared identity with our cutting-edge and research-led approach to early education. We provide our children with authentic and meaningful learning experiences, with their voices and interests at the heart of our approach through our integrated curriculum and PBL methodology.

We are looking for someone who can help us to build on our current, exceptional practice. They must be a team player who understands the Reggio Emilia approach, the community importance of the role, and has a genuine passion and enthusiasm for experiential learning.
