The Headteacher and governors are looking to further strengthen the pastoral support team with the addition of a passionate and inspired Attendance and Medical Officer. This role is ideal for a registered nurse wanting to work with children or a teaching assistant who has a particular interest in supporting the welfare and attendance of young children.
The successful candidate will be someone who:
- is compassionate and has a genuine interest in developing strong relationships with adults and children
- is aware of children’s health issues and has an interest in supporting all children to attend school regularly
- holds a paediatric first aid certificate or is willing to obtain one
- has a clear commitment to improvement and has excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to engage the wider community of the school.
The role:
- To assist the attendance and admissions officer in all day to day matters relating to children’s attendance and punctuality
- To provide day to day medical care to the children of Horsenden and to take a lead role in the implementation of the Supporting Pupils with Medical Conditions policy
- To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
- To work constructively as a member of the team to promote the wellbeing and attendance of all pupils.

Horsenden Primary school is a large three form entry school in the leafy Greenford area of the London Borough of Ealing, serving a diverse community.
