Job overview

Are you passionate about helping students achieve the highest possible attendance in school and want to be part of a team that transform the lives of young people by helping to give them the best opportunity of success?

We are looking to appoint a full time Attendance Manager as soon as possible, who will strategically respond to improving attendance and punctuality, assisting parents/carers in improving their child’s attendance. You will ensure clear systems and processes are in place to track and monitor attendance on a daily basis to identify patterns and inconsistencies of groups or individual students and ensure that this information is swiftly made available to appropriate staff.

The Attendance Manager will work alongside experienced colleagues to manage and improve attendance outcomes across the school and follow-up on every absence with students, families and staff, in order to improve patterns over time.

You must have excellent organisational skills, enthusiasm, high standards, a strong personality and a sense of humour. It is also essential to be a team-player but also able to work with minimum supervision, knowing when to seek support and advice.

You will need to be calm, patient and be able to empathise with students and parents/carers. You should have a flexible approach to all aspects of the job role and have excellent communication skills, being able to foster good working relationships with students, parents and carers.

Previous experience of working with young people within a school environment would be an advantage.
