Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
(Usual working hours are 8:30 to 4:30 with a finish of 4:00 one day per week, to be agreed dependent on Academy needs).
Contract Basis: Fixed term for one year in the first instance.
Closing Date: 9am on Monday 24 May 2021.
Interview Date: Interviews will be held on Thursday 27 May 2021 and will be arranged adopting social distancing principles.
We are looking to appoint an Attendance Officer to lead on attendance management and monitoring systems within school. The postholder will oversee tracking of student attendance and co-ordination and implementation of strategies and support systems to facilitate improved attendance. Working with students, parents, staff and external multi agencies will form an integral part of the role.
You will be required to have experience of working in an educational and/or social care setting with young people. Current knowledge of legislation relating to school attendance would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will also have a good level of ICT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, mail merge and other ICT packages.
St George’s Academy is a large, successful, 11-18 mixed secondary school of 2,200 students (including 380 in the sixth form and 470 on our Ruskington Campus) with outstanding facilities in all areas. The Academy serves Sleaford, Ruskington and the surrounding Lincolnshire villages.

About St George's Academy
St George’s Academy was first established in May 1908, with 208 children on roll. The school was one of the first Technology Colleges; it has been Grant Maintained and was a Foundation School before becoming an Academy in January 2010. The school has a history of success with students and has a waiting list for every year group. The Academy occupies a site of 32 acres and has over 3500 students on roll at the Sleaford Campus and around 520 on our Ruskington Campus. The Academy is a comprehensive school serving Sleaford and the surrounding rural area. The Academy building programme has added significantly to the already very good facilities. Students attend the Academy from a distance of up to 15 miles. Many of the students live in small villages that surround Sleaford. The nearest large centre of population is the Cathedral City of Lincoln, 19 miles away. The Academy growth reflects the growth in the local population and the parental preference for the Academy over other schools.
