The Bishop of Winchester Academy
The Academy offers a range of provision for students with language and communication difficulties who may also have autism spectrum disorder. As part of this range, the school has a well-established and inclusive specialist Centre which supports secondary age students within the mainstream secondary setting.
With the expansion of this Local Authority provision, we are seeking a specialist autism practitioner to support the Centre manager with the needs of the students and provision of autism specific interventions.
The role will include working alongside the ASD Centre Lead Practitioner in the further development of the provision.
The successful applicant will:
· Be able to Coordinate the daily curriculum for students with ASD
· Teach social language and communication groups
· Support those specific needs in the wider academy
· Offer outreach support to staff
· Support and liaise with families of the students accessing the specialist provision
The successful candidate will be joining an Academy where all Academy staff are driven by the mantra “high expectations - no excuses” and are determined, committed and focused on inspiring students to succeed.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Rigorous checks will be undertaken of the successful applicant’s background credentials, including enhanced DBS checks.
