Job overview

Chiswick School is an 11 - 19 mixed academy of approx. 1400 pupils including a large, successful 6th Form.  In February 2020 OFSTED determined:  "This is a good school" with outstanding features.

We are looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant to support the Pastoral team and our students across the school.

Ideally you will already be working in a secondary school in a pastoral role or you have experience supporting young people as a mentor etc.   However, most importantly you will have integrity, a positive approach, a calm and professional manner, even under pressure, and will be able to work positively with students.  You will be part of a great team so we are looking for a team player.

The attached job description and person spec will give more details about what we are looking for in our new colleague.

Benefits working at our school go beyond pay with staff sports and gym facilities freely available, a staff Wellbeing Programme, a thriving community spirit and social scene, childcare vouchers and free parking.

Closing Date: Thursday 7th July but interviews will be held throughout the application process so if you are interested please apply asap.  Please feel free to contact Andrea Ramsay (ara@chiswickschool.org/0208 747 6659) for further details.

This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Chiswick School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check that is satisfactory to us is a condition of employment.

Chiswick School is a mixed 11-18 school that is truly comprehensive in its nature.

Our vision is that we do whatever it takes to ensure every student achieves their full potential. Over the last year we have made rapid progress in our classrooms and we are delighted that Ofsted has recognised how far we have come. Over the next four years we are aiming to become one of the finest schools in London providing students with exceptional opportunities in and out of the classroom.

Chiswick School is full of adults who care deeply about children and we pride ourselves on the positive relationships we build with students. We are a family which includes parents and carers, teachers, other school staff and the community; with the child placed firmly at the centre of all that we do and the decisions that we take.

Our teaching and support colleagues are our most valuable resource and we work hard to provide a balanced and enjoyable working environment.  A new Wellbeing Strategy is being implemented to enhance what we are already doing to support our staff.

"Staff praise leaders for the improvements that have been made. They said that leaders take their workload and well-being seriously. Staff morale is high. They are committed to playing their part in the continued improvement of the school."  - Ofsted, January 2020

Laura Ellener
Headteacher
