Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker to provide support and guidance to pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties and thereby remove barriers to learning.
The successful applicant will promote effective participation and enhance individual learning through mentoring and support on a 1 to 1 basis with an individual student who has an Education Health Care plan.
Candidates should have excellent numeracy and literacy skills, and will hold a good level in Maths and English, with the ability to support children across the whole curriculum. Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.

Mersey Primary Academy serves the east of Hull, around the Holderness Road area. We are a small academy with 200 pupils aged between 3 and 11. Our Academy’s ethos is to strive to ensure achievement for all: working in partnership with our families to enable learners to develop emotionally, socially and academically within a safe and secure environment. Our ethos is firmly rooted in traditional British values. Learners feel safe in a caring and nurturing environment. Working with our families is an integral part of our work as we strive to enhance the lives of learners throughout the local, national and international community, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to develop into well-rounded lifelong learners. Making a positive difference for our children is at the heart of everything we do.
We are very lucky that we are situated in close proximity to three other Delta academies: Craven Primary Academy, Estcourt Primary Academy and The Parks Academy. This allows us to work closely together and each academy is committed to learning from each other and sharing best practise. Our curriculum allows us to deliver lessons that are pertinent to the children in our academy, giving them the opportunity to thrive and to have high aspirations for themselves, whilst learning about the world outside.
