National Academy for Educational Leadership

BOARD MEMBERS
Remuneration: Board Members £80 per day, one day per month

We are seeking Board Members for the soon to be established National Academy for Educational Leadership (NAEL).

Education in Wales: Our National Mission sets out our objectives for education in Wales up to 2021. Inspiring leaders working collaboratively is one of the four key enabling objectives, which the NAEL will help us to achieve.

The NAEL will be responsible for the strategic oversight and direction of leadership provision to meet the needs of the education system within Wales.

The NAEL Board will play a critical role in providing constructive strategic challenge, support and direction to the newly formed organisation. As Chair or as a Board Member you will help to ensure the organisation meets the needs of the education profession and improves the leadership skills of educational leaders in Wales.

We are therefore looking for inspiring, motivational individuals with an excellent track record, including a focus on governance, enthusing staff and stakeholders and demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach. You will need to support the NAEL in building an aspirational, inspirational and enabling culture not only for the organisation itself but also amongst its stakeholders, the current and aspiring leaders of education in Wales.

For further information or an informal chat about this key role, contact Tanya Wigfall on 03000251101.

Meetings are likely to be held in South Wales.

It is the policy of the Welsh Government to promote and integrate equality of opportunity into all aspects of its business including appointments to public bodies. Application forms received after this date will not be considered.
It is expected to hold interviews during 12-15 March.
