*FEMALE SENIOR HOUSE PARENT in BOARDING
REQUIRED FOR September 2021
Talbot Heath School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Senior House Parent to lead and enhance our well established Boarding House.
The Boarding House is a small, close-knit and well-staffed community in which the needs of each individual are met by experienced and caring house staff. Situated at the heart of our beautiful woodland campus in Bournemouth, Dorset, it is a happy and nurturing environment. Our pupils are motivated, considerate and well-behaved.
Our thriving Boarding House accommodates up to 40 boarders from Year 7 to Year 13. We pride ourselves on strong and supportive relationships between pupils and the boarding school staff, thereby allowing pupils to work, rest and play in a relaxed but purposeful atmosphere.
The successful candidate must have experience of working in a School Boarding House in a pastoral role. We require a caring, outgoing and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about, and committed to boarding. You will be a strong team player with effective communication and organisation skills, having worked as part of a team. We are looking for a forward-thinking leader, fully committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our young people.
The postholder will have full responsibility for our sole Boarding House and the role would suit someone with a clear vision and passion for boarding.
Working hours are 45 hours per week plus three overnight duties per week in the Boarding House. Full board and accommodation is provided during term time if required. You are able to live offsite, but you are expected to utilise the accommodation whilst on duty.
This is a term time only position, plus 15 extra days to be worked during school holiday times.
* PLEASE NOTE: As this is a girls' boarding school this role is suitable for female applicants only. This is an occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

About Talbot Heath School
Exam results count, but just as important are resilience, self-esteem, character, those life skills that are acquired as a result of a nurturing environment and an holistic approach to education.
It is during their formative years that young people develop the attitudes and values that they will hold for the rest of their lives. It is essential that they feel supported and nurtured in their learning environment.
At Talbot Heath the pupils flourish, not only academically but in every area, be it music, sport or the performing arts. Small classes, individual attention and the ability to tailor the provision to the needs of each student, ensure that pupils achieve their very best.
As the only Independent Girls’ School within the Bournemouth and wider Dorset area, Talbot Heath is unique. We are proud of our distinctive character and believe that we have stayed true to Mary Broad’s vision of first class education for girls with a modern twist.
