RECEPTIONIST REQUIRED ASAP

We are seeking a friendly, helpful, self-motivated, enthusiastic and energetic person to work as a Receptionist primarily to be ‘the face’ of Brent Knoll. Reporting to the School Business Manager, you will provide excellent front of house receptionist support for the school as well as providing some administrative support for the Senior Leadership and the Admin Team.

Responsibilities will include; 

  • Reception duties - answering telephone calls, dealing with face to face and telephone enquiries, liaising with parents, governors, staff, pupils, outside agencies and all visitors to the school
  • Maintain manual and computerised records and the school management information system
  • Sort and distribute all incoming mail and parcels
  • Pupil dinner money administration
  • Book open mornings, minibuses and rooms as required
  • Assist in administration of clubs, trips etc as required
  • Provide general administrative support such as photocopying, filing, routine correspondence
  • Undertake any other duties required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the admin department of the school
  • Any other duties commensurate with the scale of the post


Brent Knoll is an all age (4-16 years) special school for children with a range of special educational needs. The majority of pupils have social and communication difficulties including autism. In September 2015 the school moved to a brand new purpose built building with outstanding facilities which have provided new and exciting opportunities for enriching the curriculum and learning.

Hours

The post is for 35 hours per week, 5 days per week, 8am to 4pm. TERM TIME (39 WEEKS) PLUS 3 WEEKS TO PROVIDE SCHOOL HOLIDAY COVER.

Salary Details

Lewisham Scale SC3, spine points 5 – 6 currently £28,545 p.a. to £28,977 p.a. (please note that this is the all year round salary which will be PRO RATA for term time only plus 3 weeks, 35 hours per week)
