Swift Academies are looking to appoint a proactive and flexible Building Maintenance Supervisor to support The Rydal Academy in its vision to be an outstanding environment for our staff and pupils. Main responsibilities will include acting as key holder for emergency call outs and day to day opening/ locking of site, routine premises inspections, general maintenance of buildings and grounds, adhering to Health & Safety legislation (including COSHH, Legionella and Asbestos), planning and carrying out works during school holidays and overseeing external contractor projects. You will also be required to work closely with the Trust Business Manager to ensure a robust Estates Strategy is in place for the upkeep and development of site.
Previous experience in a similar role or background in a trade such as building, plumbing or electrical work would be beneficial.
This position is whole time, i.e. employees must work 52 weeks per year, including during school closure periods. The successful candidate will have a leave entitlement of 31 days, the majority of which must be taken when the schools are closed. Working hours will consist of shifts between the hours of 6.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
