Smart Teachers/Tes Australia require a Business Development Manager in the area of Candidate Acquisition and Retention, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, a focus on organisation, and enhanced multitasking abilities. The successful candidate will boast a strong understanding of education environment  and have the knowledge, skills and ability to increase the amount of job ready candidates for positions across Australia, particularly QLD, NT and WA, and internationally. B2C sales and strategic analysis are important aspects of the position, along with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close deals. The ideal candidate has experience researching market trends, developing strong relationships and developing new business strategies to improve sales. This role is a full time continuing position based in Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and direct activities that increase the number of teachers and school leaders attracted to the businesses
  • Establish and nurture business networks and alliances that enable the business to connect with teachers and school leaders
  • Project manage and/or represent the business at events catering for teachers
  • Collaborate with branch managers to improve the level of engagement we deliver to new candidates
  • Strategize with the company leadership team to innovate new ways to improve and support retention in the teacher workforce
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Experience within an education environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of recruitment processes would be desirable
  • Strong communication and IT fluency
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Be eligible for/in possession of an Australian Passport or work visa
