This is a challenging position for someone who is self-motivated, an excellent communicator and has an understanding of community both in terms of externally and within the academies. The post holder is responsible for budget monitoring within their designated areas of responsibility only as there is a Finance Manager responsible for academy finances. Our successful candidate will be entitled to 25 days annual leave per annum which increases based on length of service, in addition to bank holidays.

Bearsted Primary Academy: Bearsted Primary Academy, opening in September 2020, will be welcoming its first cohort of Reception children of up to 60 pupils, two classes of 30 in each. Every year we will continue to grow our academy until we reach full capacity of 420 pupils across Years R - 6. As Leigh Academies Trust’s brand new Free School, we aim to provide its children with a nurturing and enriching environment.

Our aim at Bearsted Primary Academy is to allow all children an opportunity to reach their full potential, where ambition knows no bounds making every moment count. Surrounded by talented, dedicated practitioners, we aim to deliver pupils engaging and challenging experiences and opportunities within their education, which are both enjoyable and develop a thirst for learning. In doing this, we look to provide the highest quality learning experiences for every child, utilising our brand new facilities and resources including our outdoor Forest School provision.

We are committed to providing an education and environment where children feel safe and cared for, take risks and embrace learning, experience a sense of pride in all that they achieve, and where children can develop a variety of social, emotional and academic skills preparing them for a bright future.

Bearsted Primary Academy focuses on the development of the whole child, both in and outside of the classroom, with an emphasis on inquiry-led learning, encouraging our pupils to challenge, question and take ownership of their learning. In order to achieve this, we believe in the importance of building strong partnerships between the adults and pupils in our school, ensuring all learners succeed and benefit from the relationships formed within a caring and encouraging environment. Therefore to be a successful candidate you need to be passionate, dedicated, proactive and caring. We are looking for someone who has good communication skills and is flexible in their approach when supporting children and working alongside other colleagues. As a Trust we believe it is important to be positive, inspirational and a real team player.

About Leigh Academies Trust

Leigh Academies Trust is one of the country’s largest and most-established multi-academy trusts operating across four ‘clusters’: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London and Medway.

The Trust was formed in 2008 with the linking of the Leigh Technology Academy and Longfield Academy under one governing body. As of 1st April 2024, our Trust comprises 32 geographically organised academies (16 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff. It contains primary, secondary and special academies and is highly inclusive and successful. Our mission is to deliver “education for a better world” by ensuring that young people in our academies have an excellent start in life regardless of their background or ability.

We are a non-profit making charitable company, based in Strood, Medway. The Trust exists to support and assist schools to build upon their existing strengths and to help them achieve rapid educational transformation. It has significant experience in running schools, and today includes both sponsored academies and schools which have chosen to convert to academy status.

In addition to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all of our children, aged from 2 months to 19 years, and their families, we are proud to provide many opportunities for lifelong learning.  These are delivered through the organisations under our umbrella: Thames Gateway Teaching School Hub, LAT Apprenticeships and Kent and Medway Training (KMT), which delivers routes into teaching. Our future plans are found in our Vision 2030 document available on our website.
