This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a candidate looking to increase their responsibility and exposure within the primary sector remit with the opportunity of working across multiple sites. The successful candidate will be part of our well-established and experienced Business Department who operate across the Trust, and the chance to work highly skilled business specialists.
Whilst the Academies are in close proximity, travel between sites is paramount so our ideal candidate must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle. The role will include the management and development of the sites, tendering for contracts and ensuring best value. A key accountability will be maximising income from the excellent facilities across the Trust via LAT Enterprises. You will also provide leadership and support for members of the Administrative Team. Key responsibilities include the following;
- The development and management of the Academy’s site including all aspects of health and safety.
- Maximising external grant monies, generating additional income and detailed understanding of all income streams.
- Providing leadership and support for all members of the Academy’s Administrative and Site Teams.
- The implementation of the Academy’s Human Resource policies covering Administrative Support Staff and Site Teams under the guidance of the Trust Human Resource Department.
- The development and management of the Academies facilities.
- Ensuring best value through Academy contracts.
- The management of small capital projects within the Academies.
This is a challenging position for someone who is self-motivated, a good communicator and has an understanding of community both in terms of within the academy and externally. Please note that this role will be working alongside the finance managers. The post holder is responsible for budget monitoring within their designated areas only. For more information, please consult the Job Description and Person Specification.
Our successful candidate will join us as early into the New Year as possible (we can be somewhat flexible for the right person); please ensure you state your notice period on your application.

Leigh Academies Trust is one of the country’s largest and most-established multi-academy trusts operating across four ‘clusters’: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London and Medway.
The Trust was formed in 2008 with the linking of the Leigh Technology Academy and Longfield Academy under one governing body. As of 1st April 2024, our Trust comprises 32 geographically organised academies (16 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff. It contains primary, secondary and special academies and is highly inclusive and successful. Our mission is to deliver “education for a better world” by ensuring that young people in our academies have an excellent start in life regardless of their background or ability.
We are a non-profit making charitable company, based in Strood, Medway. The Trust exists to support and assist schools to build upon their existing strengths and to help them achieve rapid educational transformation. It has significant experience in running schools, and today includes both sponsored academies and schools which have chosen to convert to academy status.
In addition to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all of our children, aged from 2 months to 19 years, and their families, we are proud to provide many opportunities for lifelong learning. These are delivered through the organisations under our umbrella: Thames Gateway Teaching School Hub, LAT Apprenticeships and Kent and Medway Training (KMT), which delivers routes into teaching. Our future plans are found in our Vision 2030 document available on our website.
