The Weald is an outstanding, high achieving, popular and oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school situated in the heart of the West Sussex countryside. There are currently around 1,700 students in the school, but the school is growing and we will reach 1,900 plus students over the next few years. The school has an excellent record of academic and pastoral achievement and we pride ourselves in creating a caring and respectful ethos where every child is important. The school was judged to be “Outstanding in all areas” by Ofsted in 2013. Progress 8 results place us in the top 5% of schools nationally.
We are seeking to appoint a Business Manager to join the leadership team and take on this challenging role from September/October 2018.
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who has the ability to develop strategic operations within a forward thinking school. The ability to apply your skills in a rapidly changing environment is important. A full accountancy qualification is not essential but would be very useful. Direct educational experience again is not essential, but an understanding of the education world and its systems would be helpful, together with an awareness of the current financial challenges facing education.
Core responsibilities include:
- Work with the Headteacher and Governors on strategic financial decisions
- Lead the finance team
- Co-ordinate personnel functions
- Lead and oversee the support staff in the school
- Oversee the work of the catering and premises teams
The closing date for applications is 10am, Monday 4 June 2018. Please note that applications will be considered as they are received by the school and you are therefore advised to submit your application as early as possible.
Completed application forms, which may be downloaded from the school website www.theweald.org.uk, should be emailed to the Head's PA at firstname.lastname@example.org
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to equality of opportunity. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.
