Ark Putney Academy opened in September 2012 as part of the Ark network in the London Borough of Wandsworth.
Ark Putney is a mixed school with 638 students, ranging from year 7 through to a very successful sixth form.
In its 2017 OFSTED inspection Ark Putney Academy was rated ‘Good’ in every category. We have a very successful sixth form which is renowned in the local area. We have a strong ethos, results are excellent and every year, we send large numbers of students to some of the best universities, including Oxbridge.
In 2015, we moved into newly renovated buildings that bring the main Grade II listed building up to a modern learning light and airy teaching space and provides a state-of the art facilities for our pupils and staff.
We are looking to appoint a Business Studies Teacher to plan and deliver challenging and engaging lessons that instill a passion for learning. The Business Studies department is a highly successful and hard-working department that enjoys a positive working atmosphere. Business Studies is offered through the BTEC route for both KS4 and KS5.
The BTEC Level 3 qualification is supported by the Ark Professional Pathways Programme, This is an innovative programme that supplements the BTEC qualification and is respected by employers and universities, and provides a balance between academic skills and work-readiness skills.
Alongside their academic study, students have the opportunity to practice employability skills, both within the classroom and with employers. This includes developing their IT skills, giving them lots of opportunities to practice presenting, and helping them to build contacts and networks across a range of industries. They will also receive career mentoring to help them make a real and informed choice about what to do when they leave school.

Salary: Ark MPS or UPS (Inner London) £29,375 - £39,587 or £44,704 - £48,478, depending on experience
