About the Role

The Canteen Assistant has a passion for preparing healthy meals daily for students and staff of the college as well as catering for internal and external events as required. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills are a necessity. Suitable applicants will be able to work collaboratively with an enthusiastic team while also using initiative to work independently.

Essential Criteria

  • Client-focused, energetic and enthusiastic with effective communication skills;
  • A demonstrated ability to work under pressure with well-developed organisational, prioritisation skills and flexibility;  
  • Be able to work independently but also to work as part of a team;
  • The capacity to physically manage equipment and consumables within a Commercial Kitchen environment;
  • Ability to uphold workplace hygiene procedures and apply safe work practices;
  • Ability to prepare food to a strict timeline for students and staff.
