An exciting opportunity exists in this permanent full-time role of Careers Counsellor at our Wheelers Hill Campus.
As a key member of our team you will provide a program that delivers a well informed pathway for students, adhering to the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners and basing our career development service on the CEAV Code of Ethics.
You will be highly organised, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and will enjoy working with young people in assisting them to identify and achieve their study and career goals. You will possess up-to-date knowledge of University selection procedures, the range of tertiary study options available to students as well as other post-secondary options. Working as part of a dedicated and passionate team you will be fully immersed in our school.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience in establishing, building and communicating appropriate career pathways for Senior School students and their parents
- The ability to develop and create new networks between industry, tertiary institutions and the CGS community to ensure that our students are fully informed about their future choices and goals
- Expertise in providing education to Middle and Senior School staff regarding counselling students about career choice and subject choice
- The ability to comply with administrative and organisational requirements including the management of financial resources
- Suitable Careers Counselling qualifications are essential and a Teaching qualification is desirable
- Confidence in modelling best practice, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well with different stakeholders.
A current Employment Working With Children Check or VIT registration is a pre requisite for this position.
