Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a motivated and inspiring teacher to teach catering / food technology to Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. The successful candidate will assist in raising the profile of catering across our community and support the raising of attainment in this subject. A Level 2 Hygiene certificate is preferred but is not essential.
Candidates will need excellent planning skills, good classroom management and be able to teach in a variety of teaching and learning styles. This post would suit an N.Q.T. or an experienced teacher. We are mostly looking for a like-minded candidate whose philosophy of education is based on developing children as critical and creative thinkers and who is prepared to deliver this to students from a wide range of backgrounds.

We are a successful, dynamic and high profile Art, Design & Technology Department with a strong emphasis on developing teachers in their subject specialism. The team are constantly reflecting and sharing ideas and are aided by a Head of Department and a Lead Practitioner in Creative, Physical and Technical Subjects to encourage and facilitate this behaviour. Our subject specialists (Art, Catering, 3D Design, Fashion & Textiles and Graphic Design) regularly hold CPD on their specific areas based on feedback from the team with the aim being to improve and refine subject knowledge for those teaching A.D.T. to Key Stage 3. Our customised KS3 syllabus enhances our pupils' ability to become expressive, practical and creative thinkers with a broad experience of techniques and disciplines from which to refine and hone their chosen subject at option time with GCSE or BTEC options being available in all subjects offered.
