Job overview

Mary MacKillop College is seeking to appoint a Chaplain for Terms 3 and 4 of 2020. The Chaplain will work closely with the Assistant Principal – Religious Education & Mission in providing programs and support that promote unity and inclusivity in the College community.

You will have a proven rapport with young people that motivates their proactive contribution to a community of vibrant diversity. An understanding of Pope Francis’ call to ‘encounter and dialogue’ along with a practical focus on enabling action for justice are essential qualities.

Hours are flexible, amounting to a total of 12 hrs per week. Please refer to the attached Role Statement and Training and Qualification Information.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Position Tenure:   Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   Semester 2, 2020

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   12 hrs per week

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 6 - $34.53hr

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
