Our aim is to establish a culture of excellence throughout every element of our academy and move us from Good to Outstanding.
Just 30 minutes by train from Central London, The Highcrest Academy is the first All Ability Academy in the county of Buckinghamshire. It is culturally diverse and a vibrant school making it a fantastic place to teach. We have some students who will need all your support and yet we also featured in the national Ofsted report (2016) for providing challenge to the most able. Does this enthuse you?
There are approximately 950 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A new building programme, just completed, comprises a brand new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff.
We are seeking a qualified teacher to join our successful Science department to teach Chemistry and some Biology to KS4, with the possibility of teaching Chemistry to KS5. You will also be required to teach General Science to KS3.
You will join a leading department in a heavily over-subscribed academy. The Science department is staffed with a mixture of experienced teachers, NQTs and three technicians, all with a commitment to continuous school improvement. We have a suite of dedicated Science laboratories, including a newly-refurbished lab and Sixth Form facilities.
You will be keen to promote the Science department and improve upon the opportunities available to our students.
This role could suit an NQT or more experienced teacher. Highcrest offers an innovative and extensive CPD package. No matter what your experience, we will help you develop into the teacher you aspire to be.
“I’d definitely say our INSET and CPD programme/sessions are far better than anything I’ve seen or heard of from other schools.” ... Head of Art
We also have a thriving House system that brings our whole school community together.
“The growing house system encourages competition between not only students but also staff, which creates a real community feeling, making it an enjoyable place to work.” ... Head of Humanities
