If you’re a financially astute and entrepreneurial leader with lots of drive and resilience and a successful track record in the high-level leadership of an educational or similarly complex organisation, consider a move to the Baylis Court Trust as Chief Executive Officer.
We’re a thriving Multi Academy Trust (MAT) based in Reading consisting of two high performing secondary schools and one infant school. We’re also currently going through a ‘due diligence’ process to bring a recently approved primary school on board. Our current CEO, who has been here seven years, was instrumental in taking us to MAT status. We are now looking for a similarly inspirational leader to carry on the great work to date and take us to even greater heights in the future.
Our objective is to grow the Trust to a size of a minimum of six schools. This is your chance to be the driving force that makes that happen. As well as providing strategic and operational leadership to the Trust, you will collaborate with other schools and academies and play your part nationally in the academy’s movement. We will also rely on you to develop and expand the current services offered and introduce new provisions and partnerships that will benefit the local communities. Working with the Board and Executive Leadership team to achieve the Trust’s business strategy, plans and targets will be important too. And, when it comes to ensuring long term sustainability through effective governance, sound finances and the delivery of positive outcomes for pupils, again, we will count on you.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and with Qualified Teacher Status. What’s more, you can bring a proven track record of successful school improvement and an excellent understanding of MAT governance and Accounting Officer roles as set out in the relevant handbooks. Used to working alongside a Board of Trustees or a governing body, you are adept at influencing others too, including governors, head teachers and principals. Crucially, you have a real flair for setting, and successfully delivering challenging performance targets and a natural ability to manage, develop, coach and mentor a senior leadership team.
