· Salary Awarded: £21,035 to £22,667 per annum (Level 2, Zone 1 pro rata at 0.86 FTE)

Context:

Robson House is the base of Camden’s Primary Learning Support Service (PLSS). The Service includes the Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PPRU) and the Outreach Team. Robson House PRU is a specialist therapeutic and educational placement for children who cannot attend mainstream school because of social, emotional and mental health needs, or who have been permanently excluded from school. The primary task of Robson House is to meet the social, emotional, mental health and academic needs of highly vulnerable children, so that they are able to make accelerated progress, and be ready for their next stage in learning. We aim to provide a stimulating and secure learning environment for pupils and to give each pupil a positive experience of school. 

Role:

We are seeking an experienced practitioner to work as part of this dynamic and pioneering service. Within this key role you will support individuals and groups of children who attend Robson House in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Under the direction of the class teacher, you will use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support children’s learning and behaviour.

 Key Requirements
· Working knowledge of National Curriculum / Foundation Stage curriculum

· Understanding of child development, particularly of children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties

· Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. 

· Experience of working with or caring for children of primary school age

· Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health needs

· Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

· Ability to make effective use of technology to support learning

· Ability to build positive relationships with children

· Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Also desirable:

· Team Teach training

· First Aid training
