Job overview

Belvedere Infant and Nursery School is a large, popular and successful community school. The Senior Leaders and Governors are highly ambitious for the school’s long-term success and work together to create an inclusive environment where pupils’ personal, emotional and academic needs are met.  We aim to nurture our pupils’ individual talents to achieve their potential within the safe and happy environment of our school. We encourage high standards of self-discipline, behaviour and respect whilst providing a broad and balanced curriculum.  Our school has a diverse range of pupils from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities.  We were graded 'Good' by Ofsted in July 2016.

Are you an outstanding teacher who wants the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children who deserve the best?  We are a caring and supporting school who are committed and passionate in changing life opportunities for the children in our care on our journey towards “Outstanding”.

We are looking for a candidate who has a good work ethic, has very high expectations of themselves and others, who works well in a team and is able to contribute to the wider life of the school.

The position would suit either an NQT who has had successful placements or an accomplished teacher with proven track record in KS1 or Early Years for accelerating the progress of children in their class.

Our KS1 and Early Years are well resourced both in the classrooms and in our amazing outside learning area.  The school benefits from a wonderful school team with highly skilled and supportive teaching assistants, a supportive governing body and our fantastic children who are motivated to learn.

We are part of the Bexley Educational Improvement Partnership and work with a group of schools, both primary and secondary to improve life opportunities for the children that we work with.

Visits to the school are positively encouraged.  Please contact Mrs Barnett, Office Manager, on 0208 311 9092 ext 200 for an appointment.   For further information about the school please visit the school website: www.belvedereinfants.co.uk  Please email completed application forms to admin@belvedere-inf.bexley.sch.uk or post to school’s address.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school  therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages

References will be requested for those shortlisted ONLY and prior to interview.  Only those shortlisted for interview will be contacted.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and other employment checks. The school is committed to equality and diversity in employment practice and service delivery.
