Class Teacher

 Year 2 Class Teacher required from January 2020 (or sooner if possible)

Fixed term contract until the end of the summer term. 

We are looking for a highly effective class teacher to join our teaching team from the start of the spring term, or sooner if possible, covering a maternity leave until the end of the summer term. 

What makes us unique?

Elmwood Infant School is a large four form entry school with a 52 place nursery. We are located a short walk away from the centre of Croydon and serve a very diverse community with many of our pupils speaking English as an Additional Language. We have been judged by Ofsted as being consistently good for over 10 years and are a Gold Rights Respecting School. Children’s rights are an integral part of our curriculum and we are very proud of fact that we have won the Show Racism the Red Card competition for eleven years in a row! Our pupils make good progress from their starting points and our data from the summer places us in line or above the national average in almost all areas. Children behave well at our school and parents/carers are incredibly supportive, working in close partnership with us to help us achieve the best we can for their child.

Elmwood Infant School has excellent transport links, with bus and tram lines just a short walk away. Our distance from East and West Croydon train stations, makes it easy to access central London and other surrounding areas.
