The Laurus Trust is a growing multi-academy trust in the North West of England.

The vision of the Trust is for everyone regardless of background or circumstance to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and to work hard to achieve them. In the recent Staff Engagement Survey 97% of our employees stated that they would recommend working for Laurus Trust to their friends. In 2018/19 our average Teacher turnover rate for Secondary schools was 3.26%, which falls way below the National Average of 15%.

Our founder school Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) was judged Outstanding in every single category by Ofsted in 2011 and 2015. CHHS ranked as the 15th non-denominational comprehensive school nationwide in the annual Times Parent Power Survey 2019. This year CHHS is one of the top ten most sought after schools in Greater Manchester with more than 40% of all GCSEs awarded at Grade 7 or above, whilst an impressive 69% scored grades 9-5 in English and Maths. Grade 5 or above is considered the government’s gold standard at GCSE level. In the 2019 Progress 8 Headline measure CHHS came in the top 3% of schools nationally with a figure of +0.75.

A training school for thirteen years and a Teaching School for a further six, CHHS is also home to the Altius Alliance centre of excellence providing School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) for teachers of students aged 11-16, judged Outstanding in 2017.

In 2016, Gorsey Bank Primary School (GB), a high performing primary school based in Wilmslow, joined the Trust.

The Trust has opened four brand new free schools – Cheadle Hulme Primary School (CHPS), Laurus Cheadle Hulme (LCH), Laurus Ryecroft (LR) and the most recent in September 2019, Didsbury High School (DHS). These schools replicate the outstanding provision offered by the Laurus Trust founding school Cheadle Hulme High School

The Laurus Alternative Provision School is in the pre-opening phase and Hazel Grove High School (HGHS) joined the Trust in September 2019. Their 2019 results saw an exceptionally high proportion of our students gaining good passes at GCSE and A Level. Our students’ behaviour is faultless (Ofsted 2015).
