St Nicholas Primary School is a denominational school which provides for nursery children and stages P1-P7 with a current roll of 383.   Its catchment area caters for children living in Broxburn, Uphall, Uphall Station and Dechmont.

St Nicholas Primary School is an integral part of the local community both educationally and socially. There are active and effective Parish/ Community links through St. John Cantius and St Nicholas RC Church in Broxburn. Strong links also exist with St. Margaret’s Academy, Livingston and the cluster primary schools.

The school management team is made up of a HT, DHT and 2 PTs. Nursery classes are supported by a nursery teacher and nursery nurses. The rest of the staffing is comprised of 20 teachers including music and PE specialists, Pupil Support Workers as well as admin and clerical staff.

The school runs a very successful breakfast club and provides after school clubs at various throughout the year.

Distributed leadership is promoted across the whole staff. Staff demonstrates strong collegiality and teamwork which maintains the positive climate for learning in the school.

The school works closely with the Parent Council, local parish and wider community.
