Job overview

Are you keen to develop your potential in a supportive and forward thinking community?

We have a culture of high expectations, energy and enthusiasm and we are looking for a talented and committed individual keen to develop their career at this exciting time in our journey. We are looking for a great classroom practitioner with real potential, an ability to work hard as part of a team, a clear educational vision and a skill set that will enable them to flourish.  You would be joining a collaborative and committed team who share the wonderful responsibility of keeping to the highest standards all aspects of our vibrant and energetic community.

We want all children to fulfil their potential academically, socially and spiritually so that they develop strong, core, British Sikh Values and an understanding of the range of choices open to them for their future.

Applications are welcomed from well-qualified and highly motivated individuals who are keen to work with remarkable children providing an exceptional education for all.  We are particularly interested to hear from teachers with some KS1 experience, but will appoint based on the best candidate and will adjust training and development to suit.

We are in a great position to keep teaching and learning going next year in a well-managed and socially distanced environment.

We are very fortunate to have a large site with many classrooms available for our use next year, since our Secondary provision was new in 2019 and is still growing.  This means that each Primary class will be split into two 'bubbles' of 15 children.  They will be allocated two adjacent full-size classrooms, linked by technology.  Each teacher will be supported by at least one teaching assistant or HLTA.  We are investing in state of the art online learning platforms and a set of Chromebooks and tablets allocated for the exclusive use of each year group.  We have large playgrounds and are turning our hall into an enormous socially distanced Staff Room!

If you wish to apply, please complete all sections of the application form by Friday 5th June.  Please be aware that we will assess candidates on an ongoing basis and reserve the right to close applications earlier than the advertised date.

We do hope you will take the time to apply. This is a marvellous place to work and this is a very exciting opportunity. It is highly recommended that you find out more about this role -  do feel free to drop me an email at j.ridley@atamacademy.com.  In the meantime, good luck with your application.  We look forward to meeting you in the near future.

John Ridley

Head of Primary

Closing date Friday 5th June 2020.  Assessment and interview will be online.

Atam Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and expect all staff to share this commitment.  All successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), other statutory required clearance and reference checks with previous employers.
