Job overview

Are you an inspirational Classics teacher with a passion for sharing classical languages and culture with the children of Notting Hill Prep?

NHP strives for academic rigour without diminishing the joy of childhood. Latin and Greek sit squarely within our education vision and are popular subjects at NHP.

NHP is an officially accredited ‘Thinking School’, reflecting our intelligent approach to education and commitment to instil in our children the values of resilience, creativity and independence. We teach children not merely to learn, but to learn how to learn. The successful candidate will share the school’s aspirations.

The school, situated a stone’s throw from Portobello Road in West London, is in the midst of an exciting period of expansion. We are a school where ambitious professionals, committed teachers, are well supported, learn quickly and advance their careers: an opportunity culture.

This job would involve teaching Year 6 to 8. An ability to offer other subjects would be a distinct advantage. The role could start off part-time or full-time. In either scenario, it is almost certain to become a full-time role in September 2019 as the school continues its expansion. The successful candidate could start as Head of Department, dependent on experience, or grow into the role.

If you are keen to join our team, please click the ‘Apply’ button to submit your application. Completed applications must be received by 10am on Monday 15th October 2018.  Interviews will take place shortly afterwards.  Short-listed candidates can expect to have an interview, teach an observed lesson and enjoy a tour of our school.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS.
