SELECTION CRITERIA

Applicants must have:

  • Experience in working in the areas of timber, metal and or agriculture
  • Familiar with working with farm animals and agricultural practices
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain basic equipment in the TAS area
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Are a team player with a high level of demonstrated communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with KLA Leaders and the College Manager
  • Knowledge of WHS practices

APPLICATION

  1. A Cover Letter of no more than one (1) page outlining why you are applying for the position and what you will bring to the position.
  2. A supporting statement of no more than two (2) pages addressing the criteria for the position of TAS Assistant at Mater Dei Catholic College.
  3. A resume of no more than 2 pages; and,
  4. Three (3) referees, one of which must be your current employer.

Applicants who are shortlisted will be required to complete relevant Catholic Education Application Forms if not already employed by the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga.

The preferred applicant will be required to undertake a Pre Employment Functional Assessment, National Criminal Check and Working with Children Check prior to appointment.

Salary: Level 4/1: $29.88 per hour (Unaveraged - 48 weeks per year)

About Mater Dei Catholic College

Mater Dei Catholic College is an independent mixed Catholic secondary school located in the city of Wagga Wagga in New South Wales, Australia. The school has an enrolment of more than 760 pupils, with about 60 teaching staff. The school teaches pupils from Years 7 to12.

Established in 2004, the founding year catered for years 7 to 10, before catering for an additional academic year each year, until 2006.

Among Mater Dei's facilities is a resource centre where pupils can utilise a range of media including daily newspapers, magazines, 24-hour television news channels, wireless network laptops complete with technical support team, and a library.

The school is set in picturesque grounds, where pupils can take advantage of the canteen, the Pear Tree Cafe and uniform shop, as well as an optional boarding facility.

Curriculum

Years 7 and 8 begin at stage 4 and follow a common curriculum, with year 7 incorporating a range of subjects including maths, science, English, music, PE and technology. Year 8 adds subjects including geography, history and religious education.

In later years, the school allows students to choose from a wide range of elective subjects including Japanese, food technology, agriculture and drama, and also introduces work experience and community involvement programmes.
