Job overview

Calling all intrepid primary school teachers! Whether you’re a returning Kiwi or an adventurous offshore trained primary teacher, here is your opportunity to work in a fresh, vibrant, modern, and well-resourced Central Auckland primary school. They’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic new entrant teacher to join their team from 5 August 2019. The role may be within a different junior-level class from 2020 onwards.

“To think, to learn, to achieve, to consider others,” these are the values guiding Meadowbank School. This culturally diverse, two-campus school, has a long and solid reputation for being one of Auckland’s leading and highest achieving schools. With a large scale, beautiful setting, and well-resourced environment, this school is able to provide a huge array of opportunities to their very capable students.

Not only do students receive high-quality classroom teaching in a safe and nurturing environment, but the well-established and extensive enrichment programme includes Performing Arts, Mandarin, Garden to Table (teaching students to grow and prepare food), Physical Education, Coding, and Robotics. The school has an ambitious vision and a culture of high expectations. Staff take their role as educators seriously and know they are nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.

You’ll be working in a collaborative, play-based teaching environment. They have a unique programme in place for new teachers joining their team: you’ll work in a collaborative environment with a mentor teacher for up to seven weeks to ensure both you and the children are supported, then you’ll move to a classroom of your own. You’ll be in a single-cell, digitally-connected classroom.

This is a great school and community for families wanting to make the move to New Zealand. You'll be living in Central Auckland, close to the heart of the city. There's relaxed coastal living, green spaces, and beaches by day and a thriving inner-city-suburb bar and restaurant experience by night. It won't be hard to see why Auckland is considered one of the most livable cities in the world!

You may be eligible for a $5000 overseas relocation grant from the Ministry of Education if you take up a teaching position in New Zealand. Now is a great time to come and teach in Aotearoa!

If this sounds like the right fit for you, get in touch today and we can get the ball rolling!
