Loretto Nursery is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Classroom Teacher, to work in our busy 3-5 room commencing January 2018.

The successful candidate will be fully registered with the GTCS and have a working knowledge of The Curriculum for Excellence, GIRFEC and Building the Ambition. Experience working with this age group would be a benefit. They would be expected to work as part of a team alongside other practitioners within the same room; creating a holistic, active, fun learning environment for the children. Experience in Child Protection and Health and Safety matters is desirable.

Loretto Nursery aims to offer the highest possible standard of care and education and opportunity, in an inspiring, inclusive and supportive environment, and all staff are expected to support the children and encourage them to achieve of their best. The successful candidate will work closely with the Room Lead, room practitioners and the management team.

This is permanent post of 40 hours per week during East Lothian term-time only. The nursery offers competitive salary rates and a contributory pension scheme.

About the Nursery

Based in Musselburgh alongside the lovely River Esk, our Nursery is within easy access of both Loretto Junior and Senior Schools, and just minutes away from the town center by foot.

At Loretto Nursery we place children at the heart of everything we do and are committed to providing a learning environment where children feel valued and have great fun with a range of activities each week. We have a fantastic staff team who nurture close relationships with families and children in our care.

We provide an engaging atmosphere to encourage every child’s development in a caring and family-orientated environment. Playrooms within our recently refurbished nursery are light and airy, generously proportioned, carefully planned and extensively resourced to create inspiring learning environments in which children can grow and learn with confidence.

Each of our playrooms have access to large outdoor play areas, offering the opportunity for regular outdoor learning opportunities across all areas of the curriculum. Staff and children also make use of our fantastic seaside setting, with lots of walks and outdoor play.
