Job overview

Are You Determined to Give Children the Very Best Start in Life?

Would you like to teach at one of our primary schools in a collaborative and exciting multi-academy trust?

Are you looking for a teaching journey which will give you the opportunity to be involved in the development and progression of a dynamic trust and community, with excellent CPD opportunities and genuine career development?

If so, Vale Academy Trust is looking to appoint dynamic and innovative teachers across all key stages – including early years - who are determined to succeed and who are keen to learn alongside enthusiastic, committed colleagues as we continue on our journey to excellence. Our children are at the heart of everything we do and we aim to help every pupil achieve the highest standards across a broad and exciting curriculum.

Our Trust recognises that our staff are our most valuable asset and investing in our people is a key strategic priority. An extensive programme of staff development, for teachers at all stages of their career is central to our vision.

The Vale Academy Trust was formed on 1/10/13 when three local schools came together to work in partnership to ensure high quality education for children aged 3–18 in our locality. We were the first Trust in the country to include both church and non-church schools, preserving the unique nature and ethos of each whilst sharing the Trust’s vision of collaboration and mutual support. There are now eight member schools; six primary and two secondary. Our current focus is recruiting teachers for our primary schools.

For further information on the Trust, visit our website (http://www.vale-academy.org/) and click on the Vacancies tab. You will also be able to click through to the websites of each of our member schools via the Vale Academy Trust website.

Applicants will be eligible to apply for accommodation at St Marys Lodge, owned by St Mary’s Convent, in Wantage. St Marys Lodge has 6 smart, newly converted flats offered exclusively to recently qualified teachers at below market rent. Visit www.stmaryslodge.org for further details.

We encourage anyone interested in talking to us to join us at our recruitment evening (5pm – 7pm) in Wantage on Monday 21st May where we will run short preliminary interviews. Schools will then carry out full interviews on Tuesday 22nd May. Please call Roxie Boulter on 01235 754071 to book your place, and to confirm venue details and arrangements for application.  A Vale Academy Trust Teacher Application Form and an Applicant Information pack is available via clicking on the links below. All application forms will need to be with us by noon on Friday 18th May 2018.

The Vale Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and expect staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. All post holders in regulated activity are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

The Vale Academy Trust is an equal opportunity employer, aiming to have a workforce that reflects the diverse community we serve.

For all posts, unless stated otherwise, we are open to consider part-time working and job share opportunities.
