Job overview

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is looking to appoint a Classroom Teacher to join our Primary Academies within our North Cluster.

We have a full-time, permanent position and a full-time temporary position available until 31 August 2025. Please state your preference of contract and key stage in your application.

Our core belief is that children come first, and that every child, irrespective of their background, has the right to an outstanding education. We believe the foundations of strong teaching are based on effective relationships, high expectations and a sense of belonging. We place children at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success, achieving high academic outcomes and a positive climate for learning. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm, passion and determination to meet the needs of all children and have a willingness to learn and develop.

In return, the chosen candidates will have the chance to join a supportive and collaborative team. They will be provided with high quality curriculum resources and connections to planning networks for various age groups. Their growth and development will be a focus, and they will have access to excellent opportunities for continuous professional development.

The successful candidates will initially be deployed at Outwood Primary Academy Greystone. Outwood Primary Academy Greystone is a primary academy based in the beautiful cathedral city of Ripon. We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place children at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning. OPA Greystone joined the Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) in 2018. As a member of the Outwood Family we believe in putting Children First, raising standards and transforming lives.

However, as a Teacher you are appointed to the Trust within the North Cluster therefore, you may be required to work at any of our academies within your cluster or any of the Primary Academies we are supporting as directed by the Executive Principal.

Whether you are an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or an ECT starting your career, we would love to hear from you! Visits to any of our schools are warmly welcomed.

About Outwood Primary Academy Greystone

Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

Head of School: Miss Samantha McCarthy

We are a primary academy, based in the beautiful cathedral city of Ripon, near the UNESCO World Heritage Site encompassing the magnificent Studley Royal Park, including the well-preserved Cistercian Fountains Abbey.

We are passionate about being inclusive and delivering exciting, challenging learning opportunities to the children of the local community. As a result, we use our Pupil Premium allocation to support our more vulnerable students ensuring all children, regardless of ability or need, are fully supported to help them reach and fulfil their potential.

At the centre of everything we do is innovation.

This is why we have introduced the transformational, whole-school primary maths programme, Inspire Maths which is based on the leading Singapore Maths series My Pals Are Here. This initiative aids our pupils development of critical thinking skills, helping them make mathematical connections and become highly numerate.

Similarly, children in years 2 to 6 participate in Accelerated Reader: a computer program that helps teachers manage and monitor pupils’ independent reading practice. Whenever children finish a book, they will answer a series of multiple-choice questions tailored to their level of ability, giving them the impetus to become better and more passionate readers.

We want you to help to take us to the next level.

To help you do that, we work hard to ensure we reduce workload on our colleagues, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of children first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

We will also actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all staff receiving a minimum of two hours’ CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including a health cash plan, a cycle to work scheme, plus a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy, with offers exclusively for Outwood colleagues.

Please note that you are wholly responsible for fact checking in respect of the information provided by schools. Please also check for the latest visa and work permit requirements that may apply.
