Salary: Grade 9 - £34,106 to £37,107 - pro rata (Term time plus five days.)

Hours: 37 (full-time) generally 8.40am - 5pm with some flexibility required. Part-time applications welcome

Location: Pendle Education Trust, Nelson

Reports to: Chief Executive

Co-ordinates with: Principals, Board Members & Finance Manager

The Role
This role is an established role within the leadership structure of Pendle Education Trust. The current post-holder is retiring after working for the Trust since the start of our journey.
You will report directly into Anita Ghidotti, Chief Executive and work closely with the Trust
Board, Committee members, Finance Manager and the Principals in all five academies.
The role has developed significantly since it was established five years ago and will continue to be shaped and developed in the future. It is a role that requires both professional judgement and excellent attention to detail. You will be responsible for the governance processes and ensuring not only that the Trust is legally compliant but that our governance supports and challenges at all levels and contributes to high standards of education.You will work closely with the Chief Executive and Trust Board and have the opportunity to drive forward improvements in an exciting and fluid education landscape.


This is an excellent career opportunity for an individual with experience of working within
governance and/or an education setting to further develop in a growing and forward-thinking
multi-academy trust setting.


The Trust has an office at the sponsor’s site, Nelson and Colne College, and this role is
based from there. You will visit all five academies on a regular basis.The role is part of the central support team for the Trust.

  • In its first Ofsted inspection since conversion, Castercliff Primary Academy received a 'good' grading in all areas in spring 2018 after being named as 'inadequate' in its last inspection as Nelson Castercliff Community Primary School. 
  • Castercliff Primary Academy was congratulated by The Secretary of State for School Standards in 2018 for being amongst the top 2% of schools in England for the progress pupils make from Key Stage 1 to the end of Key Stage 2.
