20 HOURS PER WEEK DURING TERM TIME

£14.58 up to £15.54 per hour

We have a key vacancy for a professional and self-motivated person to support governance in our aspirational and outstanding school.  We are an 11-18 selective expanding grammar school with a co-educational sixth form and have a current student roll of 1141.  You will be joining one of the leading state schools in the country.  We are regularly ranked amongst the top 50 state schools nationally.

Duties include:

• Acting as the professional officer of the Board of Governors

• Provision of proactive, timely, accurate and appropriate advice and guidance on procedural, constitutional and legislative matters

• Provision of a confidential and high level administrative support service for all Governor Committee meetings including organising and minuting of meetings

• Ensuring the Board of Governors meets all statutory educational requirements

Do you have:

• Relevant 12 months professional experience in a school setting?

• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft office packages?

• Accomplished planning, time management and organisational skills?

• Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills?

Are you:

• Able to work flexibly within the 20 hours per week to attend meetings during daytime, twilight and evenings during term time?

• Keen to grow with the role and develop your knowledge of governance issues whilst also delivering a traditional clerking service?

• Wanting to be part of a warm, outward-looking community, which celebrates diversity and is supportive and collaborative?

• Able to converse at ease with Governors, the Headteacher and members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English?
