The College Corporation is seeking to appoint a successor to the current Clerk and the appointment will be from 1st July 2018.   

The Board seeks to appoint an experienced Clerk with a strong track record in governance. You will need to be a self - motivated individual who can promote excellence in governance and give sound advice to the Board on the proper exercise of its powers.  To be considered for this role, you must have an understanding of the Further Education legal framework and be able to demonstrate substantial experience of a clerking role.  You will have excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills.  You will be someone who enjoys working at a fast pace with a variety of different tasks, is self-managed with a strong work ethic, has a positive outlook and a ‘can do’ attitude.  You must be able to work independently on a daily basis and have sound judgement to be able to advise the Board whilst working effectively with the Principal and the SLT. You will also have to keep up-to-date with developments within the FE sector and elsewhere.  

At this stage, the post is expected to be a permanent part time role, of approximately 0.6 FTE (3 days per week), to be worked flexibly, depending on meeting commitments.  

Shortlisting will be undertaken by the Chair and the Principal and shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a Panel of Governors.  Shortlisting will be concluded by 23rd March 2018 and interviews will be held on 29th March 2018.
