Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and personable Clerk to join our Clerking Team in supporting the Local Governance Boards (LGBs) of schools across the local area within The Howard Partnership Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is seeking both the flexibility of part-time hours within term time, combined with the challenge that comes with working in the ever-changing world of education.
Previous experience of clerking meetings including panel hearings and good administration skills would be a distinct advantage.
Clerking duties will cover the organisation and management of LGB meetings. These currently take place half termly, lasting approximately two hours either before or after school hours although this can vary, and some flexibility is required. On occasion you may be asked to provide ad-hoc clerking for additional school meetings and cover for other schools within the Trust.
You will be responsible for drafting agendas, producing accurate and concise minutes of meetings, maintaining information on membership and advising the LGB on procedural matters, where appropriate. You will also act as the key point of contact for the LGB and the Senior Leadership Team. Integrity, excellent organisational, communication and IT skills, together with the ability to maintain confidentiality are a must.
Competitive rates of pay and full training will be given, with further development, accreditation and ongoing support available via our Partnership Clerking and Governance Manager. There will also be opportunities for regular networking with other Clerks across the Trust.
A Trust email address and laptop will be provided.
If you have any questions about the role specifically, please contact Russha Sellings for further information: Russha.Sellings@thpt.org.uk
Interviews may take place prior to the closing date by mutual agreement.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
