Loughborough College Governor

Loughborough College is a general further education college providing a range of courses including Further Education, Higher Education, Apprenticeships and Professional Qualifications to over 11,000 students each year.   Established in 1909, the College is proud of its reputation for providing excellent levels of high quality teaching and training.

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic independent governors with the talent, skills and experience to contribute to our governing body. We are particularly eager to attract people with audit experience, an understanding of the FE sector and experience of managing change.  We are keen to encourage equality and diversity on our governing body and would particularly welcome interest from women, people with disabilities and people from black and ethnic minorities.

College governors are volunteers drawn from the community who volunteer their experience and time.  As a governor, your responsibilities will include setting the College’s strategic direction and objectives, monitoring performance, the proper use of resources and safeguarding the Corporation’s assets.   Governors can expect to attend around 6-8 Corporation Board meetings per year, held in the evenings and will normally be a member of one Committee, in addition to the Corporation.

If you have skills and experience to share and are interested in the opportunity to become a governor, please follow the link to our website where you will be asked to send a completed application and short covering letter describing your areas of expertise and interest.

Loughborough College is an equal opportunities employer and encourages applications from all candidates irrespective of their sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, age, religion or belief.
