Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst is an aspiring school with highly supportive staff committed to providing the best education possible for our students. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated and visionary College Leader from January 2020. This is a new and exciting development for the school and will provide a wealth of opportunities for the right candidate. You will be part of a forward thinking leadership team that is committed to delivering the highest outcomes for all students.

The successful candidate will help to create and maintain an agenda of success and achievement across the college, establishing clear expectations of standards, quality and achievement for both teachers and students. You will have existing knowledge of the curriculum at KS3, KS4 and KS5, ensuring that teachers are able to focus upon the core business of raising standards and achievement in the classroom through quality first teaching. The rapid improvement in reading across the whole academy is a priority this academic year. The successful candidate would play a vital role in driving this agenda and leading the team on ensuring progress in this area is made. In addition, the ability to establish good working relationships and a consistent team approach is essential across all areas of responsibility to ensure a clear vision and direction for the college. Previous experience of effectively leading/motivating students and staff and developing team approaches is essential.

We are a large mixed secondary school for children aged 11-19, located in North Solihull/Birmingham borders. We are committed to providing the best education possible for our students and are keen to attract quality teachers for our appreciative learners. Our students are proud of our Academy and are excited to welcome committed teachers to join us. The successful candidate will have a passion for education and making a real difference to the lives of our students. All subject specialisms are welcome to apply. Experience in the role of SENCo would be welcomed.

It is a very exciting time to join us having recently, September 2018, joined the high performing Tudor Grange Academies Trust of 10 schools (6 secondary and 4 primary schools). We are excited about what we can achieve together and our high quality, state of the art building enables all of our students and staff to excel with extensively refurbished learning environments and facilities.

The chosen candidate will need to:

• Have a drive for continuing professional development

• Have experience of managing change and development

• Passionate about improving pupils’ reading

• Be committed to continuous improvement

• Be excited by the prospect and opportunities of working in a Multi Academy Trust

If you feel that you have these attributes and skills and are a suitably qualified and highly motivated professional then we would like to hear from you.

Informal visits and conversations about the post are most welcome.

About Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst

To prospective teachers who really want to make a difference to children’s lives,

I am Nicola Crehan, the very proud Principal of Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst which is a vibrant and inclusive community school made up of 1200 extraordinary students and 120 devoted members of staff.

I know that for someone wanting to advance in their teaching career whilst ensuring they get a sense of fulfilment, deciding on the right role and school is crucial - and it can also be more than a little daunting. With this in mind, I wanted to convey an honest and transparent account of who we are and what to expect – and what we expect in return. This is in the hope that I can help you make informed decisions and lay any preconceived notions to rest.

Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst is a truly remarkable school which has been on a rapid improvement journey for the past three years since it became part of the Tudor Grange Academies Trust family.  As a learning community, we strongly believe that every student deserves equitable life chances, and that a high quality academic and holistic education is the key to raising aspirations and improving outcomes for all.

Our children are curious and creative, and we do whatever we can to encourage a lifelong love of learning and equip them with life skills that enable them to reach their full potential. We expect everyone within our school community to be readyresponsible, and respectful. These are our school values which can be seen and felt in every corner of school life. We ensure that by the time our young people leave Kingshurst, they are prepared and excited to take their next steps into further education, or embark on their career journey.

Anyone considering joining our school must share and understand our ethos, vision and values from the start.  We know the power of quality education and the difference exceptional teaching can make to our students and their families. Therefore, we are on a mission to find exceptional educators and facilitators who share this belief and want to add value to the lives of young people.

I’m sure you will have looked at our past OFSTED ratings and  may have some preconceived ideas about our academy.  These will all form part of your decision-making process. We encourage you to apply due diligence when researching our school and speak to us directly. I urge you to look past this.

Please take a look at our recruitment video What is Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst about?

I feel incredibly privileged to serve this community and I will continue to do so with unswerving commitment and a promise that our young people will become responsible, respectful young adults who are ready to flourish in all aspects of life.

If you feel the same, I’d love to hear from you and would love for you to apply to our vacancies or join our talent pool.

Making a difference to so many young people is a total joy.

Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst is truly a great place to be.
