Sandhill View Academy is an 11 to 16 school which joined Southmoor Academy Trust in July 2015. The school went into an Ofsted category in December 2013. With the leadership of Southmoor Academy, the school is now addressing a number of weaknesses and is making excellent progress. Southmoor opened a Sixth Form in September 2014 and it is our intention that Sandhill will become a partner of that Sixth Form, recruiting significant numbers to take part in it courses.
We are looking to appoint two communication support workers with a BSL level 3 qualification (minimum) to support in mainstream classrooms and support deaf children under the direction of the Resource Base Manager (ToD).

About Sandhill View Academy
Sandhill View Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. It has approximately 827 pupils aged 11-16.
Sandhill View Academy was founded in 1953 and moved into a newly built school on the original site in 2002. Its modern learning facilities include a swimming pool, motor vehicle workshop, theatre and industrial kitchen. The school converted to academy status in 2015 and is supported by the Southmoor Multi Academy Trust.

Sandhill View Academy hopes to equip its learners to flourish as successful young adults. Enrichment plays an important role at the school and students are able to choose from a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including languages, sports and crafts. The school was awarded specialist performing arts status in 2007.
