The secondary school places great emphasis on high achievement, prioritising this in the belief that it can change students' lives for the better. Pupils are encouraged to have ambition and reach for their goals. Ambition is key to the school’s vision and students are urged to never give up, but instead demonstrate determination.

Sandhill View Academy hopes to equip its learners to flourish as successful young adults. Enrichment plays an important role at the school and students are able to choose from a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including languages, sports and crafts. The school was awarded specialist performing arts status in 2007.

Ofsted report

"Students with disabilities or special educational needs receive good support and make good progress. Students with hearing or visual impairments achieve particularly well and go on to achieve notable success in GCSE examinations.”
