About the role

Reporting to the Manager: Communications, the Communications Administrator is responsible for being the first point of contact for the Communications unit. They support the Communications and Marketing team including distributing SCS communications, responding to internal and external enquiries, providing administrative support and overseeing and allocating workflow, including management of workflow systems, under the direction of the Communications Manager.

Major Accountabilities

The Communications Administrator is required to perform tasks that include, but are not limited to:

  • being the first point of contact for all internal and external enquiries to the Communications Team and escalating enquiries as necessary to ensure the provision of accurate information
  • assisting the Communications Manager monitor and manage internal workflow across the team including by allocating work requests to team members and follow up on deadlines
  • supporting the team in administering the delivery of effective and timely internal and external communications through platforms such as wordpress and mailchimp
  • providing support and guidance to SCS staff during key system initiatives, projects or events
  • assisting the team with social media content and monitoring social media accounts
  • assisting in proofing material and communications
  • undertaking administrative services for the team including processing invoices, data entry,maintenance of registers, meeting and event support, and report generation
  • responding to, and managing, parent enquiries and ensuring appropriate follow up by the relevant directorate and informing the communications team of relevant issues arising from parent enquiries.
  • promoting Sydney Catholic schools as schools of choice to parents and broader communities through exciting content that supports the organisation’s values and key messages
  • promoting and implementing Sydney Catholic Schools’ mission To know and love Christ through learning and vision of Thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning
  • promoting and abiding by Sydney Catholic Schools’ values of empathy, curiosity, excellence, collaboration and truth
  • any other duties as directed from time to time.

The Person

To be successful in this position, you must possess:

  • relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience
  • demonstrated high level stakeholder management skills
  • proven high-level organisation and time management skills
  • demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
  • demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills
  • proven strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • proven high-level customer service skills
  • a valid Working With Children Check clearance (WWCC) number
  • willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.
