Job overview

OFSTED said in 2017: Pupils flourish because they are extremely well looked after in a nurturing and enabling environment. Pupils demonstrate an intrinsic pride in their work and a love of learning. The school transforms pupils’ lives and opens up the world to them.

We are seeking to appoint a talented, creative and innovative practitioner to our staff team who can be instrumental in furthering the magic we create in this very successful part of our Academy provision for students in the 11-19 age range with Complex ASD.

The successful candidate should have a clear understanding about effective teaching, raising and sustaining achievement, and the care and support of complex individuals. They should have a vision and a drive to deliver meaningful and personalised curriculums.

They should be a good communicator, able to engage effectively with students, heads of departments and parents/carers. Ideally, they should have experience of working with non-verbal students and be familiar with alternative forms of communication, sensory processing issues, and a clear understanding of behaviour as a learning need.

We are looking for a quality teacher willing to lead our excellent and happy team of staff to further develop Bradfields as a well-known and respected Special Academy. The successful candidate will be provided with individualised professional support and induction; including accessing further professional qualifications as required.

We would encourage interested applicants to arrange a visit to our academy as we are confident that such an opportunity will convince them that they would really love to work at Bradfields!

Please look at our website:  www.bradfieldsacademy.co.uk

Staff at Bradfields have access to the Fortis Trust package of benefits, which includes a wide range of professional development opportunities, and wellbeing support. Staff can also join the salary sacrifice scheme for childcare vouchers and the cycle to work scheme. As a Mindful Employer organization, we also encourage staff to take part in regular ‘wellbeing days’ during the year.

The academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and enhanced criminal record check via the DBS system (for Children & Vulnerable Adults).  We are an equal opportunities employer.
